Marina Sirtis Launches Official Site

Star Trek: The Next Generation actress Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) has become the first TNG star to open her own official web site, located at MarinaSirtis.tv.

"Well, I've finally done it," Sirtis wrote in a welcoming message on the site. "Decided to join the 21st century and have a website. Those of you who know me know that I was kicking and screaming but I realized that there were so many unauthorized sites out there, I owed it to my fans to let them know what was really going on. Plus the people at Emediastar.com were so enthusiastic and professional, I couldn't say no. So here I am slightly panicked but, overall, with a good feeling about the whole thing."

The web site was designed by Emediastar, a company specialising in creating official celebrity web sites. However, much of the content was decided on by Sirtis herself, including photos of her husband Michael Lamper, her dog Skilaki, and also her fellow TNG cast members.

The timing of the site's launch has been especially good, as according to the news section Sirtis has just been cast in the motion picture 'Peace Virus.' The futuristic film, which stars Michael Nouri, is currently in production, but little else is known about it.

Other features on the site include a Marina Sirtis store, where visitors can currently bid on an autographed shooting script of 'Star Trek: Insurrection.' Currently, the highest (and only) bid stands at $20, though that is bound to rise in the remaining five days of the auction. Also on sale are autographed photos, as well as membership to "Marina's Internet Mailing List," offering perks such as a personally autographed photo, special opportunities to meet Sirtis, and access to a private bulletin board.

"My 14 years in the U.S. have been a wonderful journey," Sirtis concluded her welcoming message. "I hope now with this web site you'll be able to come along for the ride."
