'North Star' - courtesy StarTrek.com, copyright Paramount PicturesUPN last night released the promo for next week's Enterprise episode, "North Star".

In the episode, Archer and company discover a Wild West-style colony of humans in the middle of the Delphic Expanse. David Straiton directed the episode from a script by consulting producer David A. Goodman.

The 20-second clip is available online at StarTrek.pl and The Daily Trekker. For those of you with slower connections, here's a transcript:

UPN WEDNESDAY

[Enterprise approaches a planet as Western music begins to play.]

JOURNEY TO A PARALLEL WORLD WHERE THE OLD WEST IS STILL ALIVE

[Archer walks down the main street of North Star with the Sheriff.]
[T'Pol and Trip, both in period clothing, stand at the bar.]
[Text: 'The Old West Is Still Alive']
[A cowboy pulls back his coat to reveal his pistol.]
[Trip and T'Pol walk down a North Star street together.]
T'Pol: "They're human."
[Archer joins his officers.]
Archer: "How the hell did they get here?"

AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IS NO MATCH FOR A LEAD BULLET

[The shuttlepod is parked at the end of a North Star street. Suddenly, the door begins to open, scattering dust everywhere.]
[A horse rears up.]
[The Sheriff approaches to see what's going on.]
[Archer, T'Pol and Reed stand in front of the shuttlepod.]
[A cowboy fires his gun.]
[Trip, sitting on a horse, offers his hand to T'Pol so he can pull her up.]
T'Pol: "Do you have any experience riding these animals?"
[Archer, with Bethany in his arms, flips open his communicator to contact Enterprise.]
[A cowboy, backed by two thugs, brandishes his pistol at Archer.]
Cowboy: "Drop that, whatever it is!"
[Archer and Bethany beam up to Enterprise.]
[Reed fires his phase pistol from behind a fence.]
[The beam strikes a gunman, who falls from a top-story window onto the ground.]
