Ratings Success For UPN

Variety's Rick Kissel is reporting that 'Voyager' performed extremely well for UPN with its double 'Unimatrix Zero' showing. According to Variety, 7.10 million viewers tuned in for the premire, compared to 6.20 million last year. I have no idea how this fits in with the level overnight ratings reported on yesterday.

This 15% increase in overall viewership wasn't the only accomplishment of the show. In the adults 18-49 category, viewers increased by 34% (with a 3.9/9 rating), and in men 18-49 the rating (4.8/12) was the highest since 'Scorpion, Part Two' three years ago. Finally, in the second half hour of the show, Voyager was second only to 'The West Wing' in the important men 35-49 category. Read more in the full article.

In addition, Variety is also reporting that UPN's first movie on Tuesday nights (which was previously home to a large set of failed series) got off to a good start, getting a 1.4/3 rating in adults 18-49 - more than 50% higher than last year.

And finally, as usual 'WWF Smackdown!' scored quite well for UPN yesterday, landing the net in third place, ahead of Fox, the WB and CBS.
