Veteran Trek author Diane Carey will write the novelization of the Enterprise pilot, 'Broken Bow,' it was announced yesterday.

The novelization, based upon the two-hour series premiere written by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, is tentatively set for an October 2001 release date, Psi Phi reported. An added bonus to the paperback will be the inclusion of a 'Making of Enterprise' featurette, written by Paul Ruditis, author of the upcoming 'Star Trek: Voyager Companion.'

The second Enterprise novel will be written by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch and is currently scheduled to be published in January 2002.

Diane Carey has written over thirty Star Trek books, including the novelizations of 'What You Leave Behind' and 'Endgame', as well as the concept and first installment of the 'Invasion' novel series. The author is also set to write a currently unnamed trilogy of Original Series novels.

The original announcement can be found here at the Psi Phi Star Trek Book Database.
