The Case of the Colonist's Corpse - courtesy Psi Phi, copyright Paramount PicturesThe irascible Samuel T. Cogley is set to make a Star Trek comeback.

Cogley, Captain Kirk's lawyer from "Court Martial", will take centre stage in his own novel, Psi Phi reported. Entitled The Case of the Colonist's Corpse: A Sam Cogley Mystery, the book is currently scheduled to be released in January, 2004.

The Case of the Colonist's Corpse is set on the planet Aneher IV in the middle of the Neutral Zone. The planet is claimed by both the Federation and the Klingons, and consequently is home to colonies from both parties. Matters are complicated when the Klingon leader, Commander Mak'tor, is found — phaser in hand — next to the dead body of the Federation commander. Cogley takes on the seemingly impossible case of Commander Mak'tor, and once again finds himself on the other side of the courtroom from Lieutenant Areel Shaw.

Tony Isabella and Bob Ingersoll are the writing team behind this Sam Cogley Mystery. They are both comic book veterans, and between them their credits include the universes of Star Trek, Lost in Space, Quantum Leap, Daredevil, Superman, Spider-Man and many more. Bob Ingersoll is a also senior attorney and writes a regular column for World Famous Comics entitled "The Law is an Ass".
