Hello World!

For Potter maniacs, head over to The Digital Bits for the scoop on the DVD. It certainly sounds fun-packed, but I'm disappointed to hear about the lack of a commentary track, one of the best DVD features. However, I'm sure kids like my brother will have a ball with all the games.

Trek Two Years Ago

These were some of the major news items on February 6, 2000:

  • Communicator Editor Talks Series V
    Larry Nemecek, editor of the Star Trek Communicator, said there was only ever one concept presented to Paramount as a possible Series V, although the premise had been modified several times. Still, the official press release announcing the arrival of Enterprise wasn't made until May 2001.

  • EW Reviews 'Tsunkatse'
    EW's Mike Flaherty posted his review of the much-publicised episode 'Tsunkatse.' "WWF superstar the Rock [...] guests as a combatant in the Tsunkatse, a no-holds-barred fighting contest," he wrote. "He's enlisted to layeth the smacketh down on Seven of Nine after she's kidnapped by the franchise's evil promoter, who sees gold in the prospect of forcing the Borg into battle." Overall, Flaherty awarded the episode a B grade.

  • 'Andromeda' Name Confusion
    The name of Andromeda's main character main character was still changing frequently up to the series's premiere. At this stage, the two contenders were 'Dylan Hunt' and 'Dylan Shephard,' with Hunt eventually winning out. More news on the series can be found at our sister site, SlipstreamWeb.

Today's Television Listings

  • At 8:00pm (7:00pm Central), UPN will be showing the Enterprise episode Shadows of P'Jem. Here's how the official site describes the episode:

    Archer and the crew are disappointed to discover that T'Pol has been ordered by the Vulcan High Command to leave the Enterprise — and equally frustrated at her seeming indifference to leaving their ranks. T'Pol's last mission as a Starfleet officer, however, proves eventful when she and Archer are kidnapped by a militant faction on an alien planet and find themselves once again at the mercy of the volatile Andorians.

  • TNN will be showing the Next Generation episodes 'Reunion' at 8:00 p.m and 'Hero Worship' at 11:00 p.m eastern time.

  • The Sci-Fi Channel will be showing the Original Series episode 'Whom Gods Destroy' at 6:00 p.m eastern time.

  • In Canada, Space! will be showing the Original Series episode 'Menagerie - Part II' at 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m eastern time, with the TNG episode 'Clues' at 3:00 p.m, DS9's 'Rivals' at 4:00 p.m and Voyager's 'Resolutions' at 5:00 p.m.

  • In the United Kingdom, E4 will show the Original Series episode 'Bread and Circuses' at 14:00 and 18:00 GMT. Sky One will show the Voyager episode 'Fair Trade' at 17:00. Thanks go out to the Great Link for this!
