Pocket Books editor Marco Palmieri has posted the preliminary schedule of books for Star Trek's 40th anniversary in 2006.

In a post at the TrekBBS, Palmieri promised four out-of-print Star Trek novels to return with new cover art, including one of Pocket's earliest original Star Trek publications, Vonda McIntyre's The Entropy Effect. Other reprints will include Vulcan's Glory by D.C. Fontana, Federation by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens and Strangers From The Sky by Margaret Wander Bonanno.

Bonanno's anticipated novel about Christopher Pike, entitled Burning Dreams, will be released on August, 2006. Editor Margaret Clark noted that another Reeves-Stevens project, Captain's Glory, written with William Shatner (Kirk), will be released on August as well. In December, Diane Duane's long anticipated Rihannsu: The Empty Chair will be published while her previous Rihannsu novels, which focus on the Romulans before The Next Generation, will be released as a single trade paperback.

Palmieri also revealed that the covers of the Crucible trilogy by David R. George III will align to create a single graphic. Those books will be released in September, October and November of next year. Yet another September release, a 40th anniversary anthology, will be called Constellations.

The original post may be found at the TrekBBS.
