Cho On 'Star Trek XI'

Although he would have preferred the Christmas Day release, the change to summer doesn't faze John Cho.

As reported by Sci Fi Pulse, as taken from an article in Starburst Magazine, the move from December is OK as far as Cho is concerned. "I think it's great," he said. "I was kind of attached to the Christmas Day release because my family and I we used to go see movies on Christmas Day so I was excited about that but, I think it probably is a summer movie and it's sold as a summer movie."

Cho briefly discussed the movie, while making sure not to give away anything specific. "I don’t mean to be vague but what I can say is honest which is that I think, myself and everyone else on the film, J.J. [Abrams] and the designers, I think we are trying to be respectful of the original series and we're also trying to get some new fans, do things differently and put a younger, more vigorous spin on it."

As for the new Enterprise Bridge, when asked his opinion, he said jokingly, "It was lame." Turning serious, he said, "It was dreamlike, I would have to say more than anything else. It’s quite special."
