Odyssey 5 actress Leslie Silva has been cast in the Star Trek: New Voyages episode "World Enough and Time."

A press release at the fan-produced New Voyages web site announced the casting. One of the leads from Enterprise executive producer Manny Coto's Odyssey 5, Silva will play the role of Alana.

Writer Marc Zicree - who co-wrote "World Enough and Time" and will direct the episode - said that she gave the role "a depth and variety that was just spectacular, breathtaking." He explained that her audition took place at the home of George Takei, who will reprise the role of Sulu in New Voyages. Takei read in scenes with Silva as Sulu and as Kirk.

"It payed off -- this actress was nothing short of AMAZING," Silva wrote. "So once all the deliberations were made, I called Leslie and told her she'd won the part! She was thrilled."

Designer Iain McCaig, who worked on the three most recent Star Wars films, will create Silva and Takei's costumes along with his daughter Meeshee.
