New Star Trek action figures, including Captain Kirk and Captain Pike in their captains' chairs, will be released in September.

Toy News International reported that Diamond Select will release the initial offering on September 8th, 2006, the 40th anniversary of the first broadcast of Star Trek. The Captain James T. Kirk Captain's Chair box set, a model of Kirk wearing the classic gold uniform and a scale replica of his command chair, will be available on that date.

In addition, Diamond Select is offering a Captain Christopher Pike Captain's Chair box set. Both will be window-boxed, sized on the same scale as Art Asylum's previous original series action figures.

Diamond Select will also produce a special 2006 San Diego Comic Con exclusive version of the Kirk set, featuring the captain in the shirt he worse in the second orginal series pilot episode, "The Cage." That figure will be released in the summer to coincide with the convention, according to Toy News International.

Diamond Select will also release a number of Art Asylum Next Generation figures this year, noted Action-Figure. The figures which debuted at ToyFair include Picard and Troi in their duty uniforms, each 7" tall, packaged in a blister card pack.
