Hello World!

Well after complaining yesterday of something to write about, a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless (yes Clinton, I'm talking about you) took great delight in pointing out to me my latest book craze (which is, incidentally, entirely his fault for lending me the series in the first place), leaving me no option but to put up with his snide remarks and write about the books. They're by David Weber who, if you can trust the bought quotes on the back of the book, is one of the better sci-fi authors currently about. I admit right now that I'm inclined to agree, though I also admit I'm not the most current sci-fi fan. But in all honesty, Weber's 'Honor Harrington' series really managed to suck me in – I've gone through five books in the series in almost as many days despite the really corny name of the heroine of the novels. Yes, her name is *Honor*, she's an officer in the Royal Manticoran Navy (space navy, that is) and she has a 6-legged emphatic treecat. But don't take the on face value – it's astonishingly well written, especially for a man writing for a woman, intelligent and a lot of fun. A good read, and one I recommend. The first book in the series (I think there're eight) is 'Honor of the Queen' (I think)

. And, you know, I really have no idea what I've just written – my body's telling me it's past my bedtime and my short term memory is packing it in.
