The director of Borg Invasion 4D, the new interactive Star Trek attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton - home of Star Trek: The Experience - promised that guests "will literally experience what it's like to be assimilated by the Borg."

In the second part of a Q&A at StarTrek.com, Ty Granoroli said that at the start of the Invasion, visitors touring a futuristic research facility would be captured by Borg drones who would attempt to assimilate them.

"The action culminates in a state-of-the-art theater providing an all-immersive tactile experience for visitors to the attraction," he said, warning that the experience is not recommended for young children.

The story was written by onetime Star Trek: Voyager staffer Lisa Klink and has music by Star Trek: Generations composer Dennis McCarthy. The film portion of the attraction features Kate Mulgrew as Admiral Janeway), Robert Picardo as The Doctor and Alice Krige as the Borg Queen.

The fact that the experience utilizes "multiple-angle immersive 3D", Granoroli explained, means that there will be visual effects from the front, overhead and both sides of the participant using a state-of-the-art digital projection system. The experience lasts approximately 22 minutes.

Borg Invasion 4D will open at a gala at the Hilton on March 18th, entitled The Borg Ball, with tickets costing $299 per person.
