Hello World!

It's December, and you know what that means?

Pirates of the Caribbean came out on DVD yesterday. My kids are watching the deleted scenes as I type this. Because we've already watched pretty much all the features on The Two Towers extended edition, and we have to have something to distract us from the fact that:

The Return of the King opens two weeks from today.

So last weekend we took the kids to see Elf, which was cute, especially if you grew up watching Rankin Bass Christmas specials. There was a snowman guy modeled on the one in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and various animals, elves, etc. from Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. The story is essentially Rudolph only with a person instead of a reindeer, and there's plenty of toilet and food humor.

And tomorrow I'm going to see Master and Commander for the third time, because, you know, ships and gales and the Galapagos and, well, Russell Crowe.

Fourteen days.
