Dominic Keating (Reed) will join George Takei (Sulu) on NBC's Heroes next season.

The trade paper Variety reported that both Keating and Dianna Agron will play new recurring roles on the smash hit, with Agron playing a cheerleader and Keating an Irish mobster.

Since Enterprise ceased production, Keating has been filming such projects as Species IV and Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf. The cast of the latter includes Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins, and the film is expected to be released in November.

Unbreakable cheerleader Claire was one of the major characters of the past season. The name of Agron's character has not yet been announced. Her previous credits include Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine)'s Shark.

One of the central characters of Heroes, Hiro - the son of Takei's character - is known to be a Star Trek fan. Takei's character's limousine license plate reads NCC-1701.
