Howard To Continue Trek Voyage

The official site announced today that long-time Trek veteran Merri D. Howard is serving on Series V as a Supervising Producer.

In this role, Howard is required to oversee the 'production' phase of all the episodes from the final draft of the script to the last frame of footage. The role is a purely organisation one - creative decisions are left in the hands of the director.

Joining the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation in its second season as First Assistant Director, Howard quickly rose through the ranks to become Unit Production Manager and then Line Producer. When TNG completed its run in 1994, Howard transferred to Voyager, and has worked on the series ever since, serving as Producer, Co-Supervising Producer and finally, Supervising Producer.

Prior to her time on Trek, Howard worked on 'MacGyver' for two years as Second Assistant Director, and later First Assistant Director.
