Star Trek: The Experience Assimilates the Borg

In spring 2004, visitors to Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton will be assimilated by Borg Invasion 4D.

The official web site for The Experience announced the attraction online on Friday.

The new environment will feature a combination of live actors and special effects to create a scenario in which visitors touring a futuristic research facility are pursued by Borg drones bent on assimilating them.

"4D" refers to the fact that the attraction will use an overhead screen and live 3D onscreen playback from a live-action camera. The entertainment promises an "all-immersive tactile experience for visitors."

Borg Invasion 4D will also offer an original film starring Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo and Alice Krige as Captain Janeway, the Doctor and the Borg Queen.

Paramount Parks will continue to run the current version of The Experience, in which visitors to a scenario involving Klingons are taken on a ride in a flight simulator.

More information is available here at the web site for Star Trek: The Experience.
