Koenig Speaks

Walter Koenig is positive about the new Star Trek movie and his replacement, but not quite so generous towards faux Internet "authorities".

As reported by SciFi-Pulse, Koenig is positive about Star Trek XI. "I think the movie's a great idea and I hope they really do a terrific job," he said. "I have no reason to believe they won't. I know J.J. Abrams is a very sharp guy and he's obviously extremely successful, and the cast I got to visit on the set all seemed to be very confident, very good performers and very interesting personalities. So I'm sure that they will have a good film."

Koenig also enjoyed meeting with the actor now playing Chekov, Anton Yelchin. "I talked to Anton," said Koenig. "He came by and actually spent a couple of hours talking. He's a very ingenious pleasant young man. He already has a career. I mean he is quite well established and seems to be building quite a career for himself as an actor."

Although Koenig has never personally experienced a negative experience with a fan, he had harsh words about Internet bloggers who claim to be authorities on subjects when they are lacking in the knowledge department. "I want to sit them down and tell them to go take a class before they start critiquing," he said.
