Nicole De Boer Cast In 'Dead Zone' Pilot

Being a Trill apparently not only guarantees a longer life, but also a more successful career. After Terry Farrell (Jadzia Dax) became the first DS9 start to land a starring role in the network series 'Becker', Nicole deBoer (Ezri Dax) has now reportedly been cast for the new UPN show 'Dead Zone'.

TrekWeb is reporting that the 30-year-old Canadian actress has joined the series as Sarah, the girlfriend of main character Johnny. If the series, whose full title is 'Stephen King's Dead Zone', is picked up by UPN as a regular series, it could mean a regular role for deBoer.

'Dead Zone' is being developed by DS9 and Voyager co-creator Michael Piller and his company Piller Squared. The series will star Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, a man whose psychic powers could end up changing history. A review by Smiling Jack Ruby of the series' pilot script can be found here.

Nicole de Boer joined the DS9 cast for its seventh and final season, replacing Terry Farrell, who had left to take on a regular role in 'Becker'. Since DS9 ended, she appeared in the Showtime film 'Rated X', attended several conventions, and got married to musician John Kastner.
