The DVD release of the fifth season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine will include two featurettes on "Trials and Tribble-ations", the episode that brought together Kirk's crew and Sisko's in a reliving of one of Star Trek's most popular episodes.

The complete fifth season will be released in the U.S. on October 7th, according to Amazon.com.

As with previous sets, this one will include all 26 episodes of the season.

During the fifth year of the series, Odo became a changeling once again, Dax and Worf's romance heated up and the Dominion conflict intensified as Dukat forged an alliance between the Gamma Quadrant foes and Cardassia.

Meanwhile Sisko pursued the Maquis, Kira bore the O'Briens' child and Quark learned that his mother was an activist for women's rights.

In addition to features on the development and special effects from the reimagining of "The Trouble With Tribbles", the release will include a Crew Dossier on Miles O'Brien featuring new interviews with actor Colm Meaney.

Michael Okuda will offer a tour of the Promenade and describe the set's inside jokes.

The complete fifth season will be available from Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.de.
