Written by co-producers Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong, the episode involves the discovery of wreckage from the Borg sphere featured in Star Trek: First Contact in a glacier. Amongst the debris, Starfleet researchers unearth some frozen drones, who soon start to reactivate and assimilate them. Trek veteran David Livingston directed "Regeneration".
