Hello World!

The universe is full of strange things - mysteries and such, the stuff that makes you think. Presently I'm wondering why on earth I have not one but 4 clip-on black ties. After all, I've only ever needed one, and I haven't worn it for over a year now. On the other hand, I've noticed a definate shortfall in the number of another item of apparel - socks. I finsihed cleaning out my old room today and even after going pulling all the junk out from under the bed, scouring the bottom of my closet and even (horror of horrors), daring to check the odd-sock basket, I came away with barely enough socks to last me a week - let alone a matched set of my favourite thick and warm explorer socks that prevent my poor feet from freezing. Now *that* is one of life's great mysteries. Or a conspiracy or something. 'The Great Missing Sock Conspiracy'. Sounds about right. Something should be done about it. There's all these 'bring back' campaings going on at the moment, Kirk, Sulu, Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, honest politicians (if ever there were any), so I don't think it'd be that hard to start up a 'Bring Back Our Socks!' or BBOS campaign. We shall burn all the washing machines! Torture all the dryers for infomation! We will launch a mass marketing campaign and flood our target audience with propoganda, press-releases and well-designed video trailers! We will... shortly be seeing psyciatric help for the Great and Glorious leader of the campaign who just realized how nuts she sounds.

Corrections

A number of people who are better history students than us have written to to tell us that we had a MAJOR historical error in our article looking at what's next for Alexander Siddig - Queen Boadicea was the Celtic queen who led the rebellion against Rome, not the Roman who led an attack against Brittian. I'm just a several-generations removed colonist and my dear co-editor is Dutch, so we didn't know any better than what we originally read. Sorry for any confusion or upset caused by this!
