The Star Trek Seekers series of books is being written by Kevin Dilmore, David Mack, and Dayton Ward.

Ward: Vanguard – What Judgments Come

Dayton Ward, co-author of Vanguard: What Judgments Come, talks about this first part of the finale to the Vanguard series and the approaching end of the Vanguard series.

Vanguard: What Judgments Come (due out next week) and Vanguard: Storming Heaven (due out next March) will complete the Vanguard series and that was always the plan. “…David Mack, Kevin (Dilmore) and I are getting to do something that’s never really been done before: bring to a planned conclusion one of the novel spin-off series,” said Ward. “From the start, Vanguard has had a definitive endgame in mind, though specific details about how to get there were always left nebulous.”

Author Dayton Ward shared his thoughts on the state of the Star Trek universe after the events of the Destiny Trilogy and subsequent books, where Starfleet were weakened substantially and danger looms from foes united in an alliance against the Federation.

A new power bloc is in town. The Typhon Pact is an alliance of Romulans, Tzenkethi, Breen, Gorn, Tholians as well as those from the Holy Order of the Kinshaya and this group of xenophobes means business when it comes to the Federation and the Klingon Empire.


Star Trek Novels To Debut In 2011

The Simon & Schuster Digital Catalog features four Star Trek books of interest to fans to be published in 2011.

The four new books, the first of which will debut at the end of May, are: Star Trek: Children of the Storm, Star Trek: Vanguard: Declassified, Star Trek: Cast No Shadow, and Star Trek: A Choice of Catastrophes.

Entering a fan writing contest back in 1997 lead to a professional writing career for Dayton Ward.

In 1997, Ward entered the first Strange New Worlds writing contest. His story was good enough to be chosen for inclusion in not only that first volume of Strange New Worlds, but the next two volumes as well.
