Several Star Trek collectible toys were seen at the recent iHobby Expo.
The iHobby Expo runs through today, and bills itself as the “world’s largest model hobby show.”
Next year, Hasbro will be making Star Trek toys, and one of those toy lines will be the Lego-like KRE-O Star Trek figures.
The toy line will launch in support of the May 2013 release of Star Trek 2.
A third line of Hasbro’s Kre-O toys has been launched, and this line will be of interest to Star Trek fans.
Hasbro, Inc. has “entered into an agreement with CBS Consumer Products to manufacture and globally market a variety of products based on the Star Trek property beginning in 2013. The toy line will launch in support of the Star Trek movie sequel from Paramount Pictures, which will open May 17, 2013.”
Fans who enjoy Trek-themed merchandise will be happy to hear that there will be a variety of new Star Trek products to hit stores this year and in 2012.
The Star Trek merchandise includes toys, busts, games, candy and clothes.
Action figure collectors who are fans of the original series will enjoy the “Dilithium Collection” released by Diamond Select Toys.
Three new sets, from three original series episodes, can be pre-ordered, with delivery expected in late October. The sets will sell for $31.98 each.
A second wave of Star Trek XI based toys is due out this summer and includes characters and creatures from the movie.
As reported byTrekMovie.com, the new toys will begin arriving in July. Figures include three sizes: with 3.75 inch, six inch, and twelve inch figures. The 3.75 inch figures (Galaxy Collection) include figures of: McCoy, Chekov, Kirk (3 different figures,) Spock, Sulu, General Ayel, Sarek, Keenser and Drakoulias. (more…)
The light-up Star Trek XI toy badges available in specially marked boxes of Kelloggs cereal are hitting store shelves now.
Pictures of the five available Star Trek XI badges are shown on the back of a box of Kelloggs Fruit Loops. Three of the badges are Federation (Sciences, Command and Engineering,) one is a Klingon badge and the last one is a Romulan badge.
The badges, shown here, light up when a button on the side is pressed. The Engineering badge glows red, other badges glow green, blue or yellow. Each badge is approximately three inches in length and about an inch and a half wide (7.6 cm and 3.8 cms respectively) and is made of a silver plastic. (more…)
Star Trek XI goodies are being offered with the purchase of Kelloggs breakfast cereal and Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.
As reported by Kelloggs, Star Trek fans who like sweet pastries are in luck. Specially-marked Kelloggs Pop-Tarts boxes will contain a voucher that can be saved up to be exchanged for a Star Trek XI movie ticket. When five of these vouchers are collected, the fan will send them in with the official order film, and in return will receive a ticket for one free admittance to Star Trek XI at valid participating theaters. The 2009 New York Toy Fair is history, but photos of some of the forthcoming Star Trek toys have been posted for eager fans.
As reported by Sci Fi Wire, and Action-Figure.com, there are plenty of goodies for the young and the young-at-heart Star Trek fans, including action figures, replica instruments and weapons, games, playsets and a life-sized replica of the Captain’s chair from the Enterprise bridge. (more…)
