Takei’s Strange Five-0 Find

In preparing for his role on the new Hawaii Five-0, George Takei found something a bit creepy.

Takei will appearing in Five-0 thirty-seven years after appearing as a cop in the original Hawaii Five-O (1975′s Death’s Name is Sam episode). In the new episode, airing December 17th, Takei will play Chin Ho Kelly’s (Daniel Dae Kim) Uncle Choi.

Takei Tumblrs For Sandy

George Takei has joined Tumblr in aid of raising funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

It all started when Takei’s nephew asked the actor why he didn’t have a Tumblr account, given his “love of goofy pictures.”

Takei In New Black Friday TV Commercial

“Black Friday” is next week, and the original series’ George Takei is in a new commercial for retailer Old Navy’s Black Friday sale.

“The fun is near!” claims the ad for Old Navy’s “Cheermageddon.” “The most epically friendly sale ever just got even more epic.”

Takei On Five-0

Star Trek‘s George Takei will guest star on an episode of Hawaii Five-0.

Takei will play the uncle of Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) in the episode. The uncle will “provide the team with information that helps them win the case.”

Hawaii Five-0, which airs Mondays on CBS at 10 PM, is currently in its third season. Takei’s episode will air in December.

Takei To Appear On NBC Comedy

Star Trek‘s George Takei and Nicole Richie will guest star on NBC’s The New Normal.

Set in L.A., The New Normal is about a gay couple and the waitress who becomes a surrogate for the pair who want to have a baby.

“Proud to announce Nicole Richie and the legendary George Takei are joining The New Normal family,” said Executive Producer Ryan Murphy, via Twitter.

The pair will be playing themselves in the guest roles. TrekToday will update this story with details on the episode and when it will air as that information emerges.

Takei WWII Musical Opens Today

Allegiance – A New American Musical opens today at The Old Globe in San Diego.

Star Trek‘s George Takei, whose family lived in several internment camps during World War Two, plays a dual role in the production.

Takei Reacts to Boy Scouts Announcement

Last week, the Boy Scouts of America upheld its ban on gay members in the organization and this week, actor George Takei, a former Eagle Scout, replied to that announcement.

In a new column, Takei expressed his disgust with the ruling and vowed to fight the ban.

Takei Supports Social Security Bill

Star Trek‘s George Takei appeared in Washington, D.C. yesterday in support of The Social Security Equality Act bill (H.R. 4609), introduced by California Representative Linda Sánchez.

H.R. 4609 would eliminate the Social Security Administration policy which denies certain benefits to same-sex couples.

Takei At Seventy-Five

Star Trek‘s George Takei celebrates his seventy-fifth birthday today, and the actor reflected upon his life while looking ahead to the future.

The actor is spending his birthday trying to do something worthwhile. “I’m literally up in the air flying from Los Angeles to Toronto to speak at a fundraiser for the Japanese-Canadian Cultural Centre,”  said Takei. “So I am celebrating my seventy-fifth birthday in the way that I’ve spent most of my life: raising funds for good causes.”

Takei: Responses To Coming Out

When George Takei came out in 2005, he received many emails; most were positive but some were not.

Although out to family, friends and select others, Takei came out publicly in 2005 in response to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s veto of a gay marriage bill.

Trump To Takei: You’re Fired!

Star Trek‘s George Takei is the latest celebrity to get the ax on Donald Trump‘s The Celebrity Apprentice.

Takei’s assigned job on the show was project manager, and his task was to lead a group of men in decorating a window at Lord & Taylor for Ivanka Trump‘s new fashion line. Another team, consisting of women, also decorated a window at Lord & Taylor’s and their window was deemed the winner.
