Colm Meaney has been cast in a SyFy miniseries based on an Arthur C. Clarke novel.

Childhood’s End will be a six-hour miniseries.


Shatner In Haven

William Shatner will be appearing in Syfy‘s Haven next year.

Haven is “based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid…and is set in the village of Haven, Maine. Residents suffer from a range of supernatural afflictions called the Troubles, which grant them fantastic and often dangerous powers.”


The Wil Wheaton Project Axed

The actor received the news in a phone call from a Syfy executive last week.

Ryan To Guest Star On Syfy Thriller

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Jeri Ryan will be seen on Syfy‘s original series Helix, which will debut next January.

Helix is a thriller about “a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to the high-tech research facility Arctic Biosystems, to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that may hold the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation. Burton To Guest Judge On Syfy Show

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s LeVar Burton will be a guest judge on Syfy’s Face Off.

On Face Off, special effects make-up artists compete to collect $100,000.

Burton will guest judge the episode airing February 22, when the artists will “design aliens based on the work of series judge Patrick Tatopoulos.”

Face Off has been renewed for a ten-episode third season.

Mulgrew Joins Warehouse 13

Kate Mulgrew, Star Trek: Voyager’s Captain Janeway, will be appearing in Syfy’s Warehouse 13 in a four-episode arc this fall.

Mulgrew will portray Jane, a character who will have a “profound impact on the Warehouse.”

Spiner To Appear In Alphas

Brent Spiner, best-known to Star Trek: The Next Generation fans as Data, will be a guest star in the new Syfy series Alphas.

Airing on Monday nights at 10 PM on Syfy, Alphas “follows a clandestine group of ordinary people whose unique neurological condition equips them with extraordinary physical abilities. Operating within the U.S. Department of Defense, the Alphas team is led by preeminent neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Lee Rosen (Emmy Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee David Strathairn (Temple Grandin, Good Night, and Good Luck). The ensemble cast also stars Malik Yoba (New York Undercover, Why Did I Get Married?), Warren Christie (October Road), Azita Ghanizada (Castle), Ryan Cartwright (Mad Men, Bones) and Laura Mennell (Watchmen).”

Spiner will be appearing in episode #109 Blind Spot, which will air on Monday, September 12. Rebecca Mader (No Ordinary Family, Lost, Justice) will also be appearing in Blind Spot.

Best of Star Trek: The Next Generation To Boost Syfy

Looking to boost ratings, Syfy will air some of the best of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Tuesday nights.

On October 19th, The Next Generation will beginning airing at 7 PM, ahead of Syfy’s primetime Tuesday programming which includes Stargate: Universe and Caprica.


Picardo In Monsterwolf

Roberto Picardo, Star Trek Voyager‘s EMH, will be starring in SyFy’s Monsterwolf, which will air this autumn.

Monsterwolf, an original SyFy movie, will feature Picardo as Mr. Stark in a movie about what happens when an animal spirit is inadvertently released.


Wheaton To Appear On SyFy’s Eureka

Wheaton will be appearing as Dr. Isaac Parrish, the head of the Non-Lethal Weapons lab at Global Dynamics.


Syfy In Talks With Moore About New BSG

Battlestar Galactica/Caprica Executive Producer Ron Moore may be adding another Battlestar series to his resume if Syfy has their way.

Syfy is in talks with former Star Trek Writer/Producer Moore for another Battlestar series, which will reportedly return to Battlestar Galactica‘s roots.


Atari And Syfy Star Trek Online Partnership

Atari and Syfy have announced an exclusive partnership promoting the highly anticipated Star Trek: Online MMORPG, which releases for the PC on February 2.

To celebrate the launch of Star Trek: Online, Syfy will air a two day Star Trek marathon. On Monday, February 1 from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.  Star Trek: Enterprise episodes will air.  On February 2 from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation will be featured.
