Fans of Tom Whalen‘s art who have purchased a ticket for this autumn’s Vulcan Events to be held in the Orlando, Florida area, will also have the option of pre-ordering a new poster commemorating Sir Patrick Stewart‘s appearance at the convention. Whalen was the artist of Mondo’s most recent offering, the Let That Be Your Last Battlefield poster that debuted earlier today.
As is usually the case with the Mondo poster offerings, the Let That Be Your Last Battlefield, offered earlier today, sold out within an hour. That poster was artist Whalen’s second poster in the series; the first one was based on the original series Journey to Babel episode. The Stewart poster is expected to sell out quickly as well.

The world television premiere of William Shatner‘s The Captains documentary is next Friday.
Photos, clips and interview excerpts are beginning to emerge ahead of next week’s Shatnerpalooza extravaganza, which will air on EPIX and kick off next Thursday with Shatner’s Gonzo Ballet. An exclusive photo is shown here in a thumbnail-sized edition and the full-sized photo can be seen by clicking on that thumbnail.

Sir Patrick Stewart will be participating in The War of the Worlds, a game based on the H.G. Wells novel.
The War of the Worlds game will be coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade. The game is a “is a dark and breathtaking new vision inspired by the classic H.G. Wells novel, retold as a single player, 2D action-adventure.”

Patrick Stewart has joined a campaign against a Thames Water proposal for a twenty-mile super sewer.
The tunnel through Chambers Wharf would cost £3.6, but the cost is not the problem, the location is. Local residents are against the possible impacts of the new super sewer.

McGill University alumnus William Shatner was presented with an honorary Doctorate of Letters today at the spring convocation ceremonies at McGill.
The eighty-year-old Shatner graduated from McGill forty-nine years ago, with a BA in commerce.

Last June, as reported by TrekToday, Patrick Stewart got into a verbal altercation with comedian James Corden, but now Stewart hopes to make amends for his behavior.
Stewart explained last month that alcohol was the cause of his bad behavior and expressed remorse for the incident, saying that “I still blush in remembrance of it.”

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Sir Patrick Stewart made known his views on assisted suicide recently for a documentary to air on BBC Two.
A patron of Dignity in Dying, an organization which is actively campaigning to have the law changed so that mentally competent, terminally ill adults may choose assisted suicide, Stewart’s views on the matter were formed after his own health issues and that of a family friend made him think about mortality.

Sir Patrick Stewart has explained why he picked a fight with Glamour Awards ceremony host James Corden last year.
Stewart was supposed to be onstage to present an award to Zoë Saldana for Film Actress of the Year, but although he presented the award, Stewart was more interested in verbally lashing Corden, much to the embarrassment of Saldana, as reported here.

Although X-Men: First Class won’t debut for another five months, details on the first theatrical trailer are rumored to have been released.
According to the report, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan will voice over the opening lines speaking about destiny and asking “which side will you stand for,” as scenes of their respective characters from earlier X-Men movies are shown.
X-Men: First Class, directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring James McAvoy as Professor X and Michael Fassbender as Magento, will be released on June 3.

The list of nominees for the Seventeenth Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards has been announced, and amongst the nominees are Patrick Stewart and Winona Ryder.
Stewart was nominated for one SAG award, and Ryder was nominated for two SAG awards.

Due to a combination of the bad economy and a bad review, A Life in the Theater, in which Patrick Stewart had a starring role, has ended five weeks earlier than planned.
“On Sunday at about five o’clock my association with A Life in the Theater ended for all time,” said Stewart. “It was one of those frustrating experiences where audiences who came had a great time but we were unlucky to have a very poor review from The New York Times and that is still a review that can do huge damage to a production. We had many reviews that were really positive but a poor review in The New York Times is harmful.”

Once not keen on Los Angeles, Patrick Stewart has found that he misses both the city and making films.
Stewart is ready to leave the stage when his work on A Life in the Theatre ends its run. He credits his work on PBS’s Macbeth with the change in his attitude, saying that it “really whetted my appetite. I want to get back in front of the camera.”
