Sir Patrick Stewart has been chosen to receive an award from PFLAG National, a national organization for families, friends, and straight allies of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Other honorees will include NFL players Brendon Ayanbadejo and Chris Kluwe, author John Irving, and the Whirlpool Corporation.

New Star Trek into Darkness trailer to debut; Stewart to marry; Star Trek into Darkness comic preview.
TrekMovie reports that a new international trailer for Star Trek into Darkness will debut at midnight and can be seen at iTunes. The trailer should be around two minutes and twenty seconds in length.

At the recent Emerald City Comicon, Stewart explained how a long-ago event during his early childhood inspired him to do Star Trek years later.

Written by Belber, Match will also feature Broadway vet Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard.

Sir Patrick Stewart will be appearing as Professor X in X-Men: Days f Future Past.
Director Bryan Singer made the announcement via Twitter. “Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 (Sir Ian McKellen) & @SirPatStew (Patrick Stewart) are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast…More to come,” he said.
Speculation on Singer’s “more to come” statement has begun, with some hoping that Hugh Jackman will sign on to reprise his Wolverine role.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released in 2014.

A typical Star Trek: The Next Generation convention cast photo op turned out to be anything but typical when a Trek fan unexpectedly popped the question to his girlfriend.
During the Austin Wizard World Convention, which took place at the end of October, Wil Wheaton was present and described what happened. “I had the flu,” he said, “and almost missed this photo session…I sat there and smiled for everyone as best I could.”

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Sir Patrick Stewart has donated a costume worn in a play to help fundraising efforts for a Yorkshire Monastery in his hometown.
Born in Yorkshire, the actor has connections to the Community of the Resurrection monastery, having performed there as a boy it its open-air Quarry Theater.

Moving into a new place means getting various services established and for Sir Patrick Stewart, it might have been easier to hook up with the Borg hive mind than to get his cable service connected at his new digs in Brooklyn.
Patrick took to Twitter when his attempt to set up his cable with Time Warner Cable did not go well. “All I wanted to do was set up a new account with TWCable_NYC,” he complained, “but 36hrs later, I’ve lost the will to live.”
