As reported by MTV Movies Blog, although The Next Generation characters make appearances in the prequel comics, don’t look for them on the big screen this May. “Data is featured in one of the prequel comics,” said Lindelof. “But we do not want to mislead the public into thinking they’ll see Next Gen cameos.”

Rumors of the cameos began at WonderCon, according to LatinoReview.com, where is was said that a writer (or artist) claimed that part of the movie would take place with the Next Generation crew and to look out for that. When asked directly about it, the same person said, “I really can’t say anything about that.”

Lindelof spoke of other Star Trek XI topics, such as the run time of the movie. “The actual content of the movie is at about exactly two hours,” he said.
