And It’s A Wrap

Star Trek 2 has finished principal photography according to the tweets of several of the actors starring in the movie.

Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg both tweeted about the end of their work on Star Trek 2. “Wind, reel and print,” said Pegg. “The countdown to May 2013 has begun.”

No Shatner in Star Trek 2

According to the man himself, William Shatner won’t be seen in next year’s Star Trek 2.

Answering a fan question at the Calgary Expo in Canada, Shatner admitted that he would again not be in a J.J. Abrams Trek film. “I’ve been an acquaintance of J.J.,” he said. “But I’m afraid no, no, I will not be in Star Trek 2.”

Shatner is still keeping busy though, with books, documentaries and guest appearances on TV shows. His new book, Shatner Rules: Your Key to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large, will release in October. The Shatner-produced The Captains will air next month and Shatner will be a guest star on an episode of the USA comedy Psych, where he will play a con man father of a detective.

Pegg: In The Dark About Star Trek 2

Star Trek fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to 2009′s Star Trek XI, but even the actors involved in the J.J. Abrams sequel aren’t sure when shooting will begin.

Star Trek 2 is due to be released next year and while Pegg knows that he’ll be Scotty again in the sequel, he has no idea as to when shooting will begin. “Hell yeah! Of course, I’m Scotty – but I don’t know yet, [we'll start] probably end of the year or beginning of the next.”
