According to TrekMovie, Jason Matthew Smith, last seen in Star Trek XI, will be on the USS Enterprise again in Star Trek 2.

In Star Trek XI, Smith played the role of “Cupcake,” the cadet who got into a fight with a young James T. Kirk in a bar scene after Kirk tried to pick up Uhura. “Cupcake” later got revenge on Kirk when he arrested him on board the Enterprise.

Smith’s appearance in Star Trek 2 has not been officially confirmed by Paramount, so treat this as rumor for now.
