Crossovers were nothing new for Star Trek or for Braga, who controversially put Commander Riker and Counselor Troi in the finale to Star Trek: Enterprise.

Recently, Trektoday reported that there would be a Star Trek night at Dodger Stadium on Friday, August 3rd, and now comes news that none other than William Shatner will throw out the first pitch at the game.

On August 3 at 7:10 PM, the Los Angeles Dodgers will hold their first-ever “Star Trek Night” at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers will be playing the Chicago Cubs.

According to the Dodgers official website, “Star Trek legend William Shatner will be at Dodger Stadium for pre-game festivities and to throw the first pitch.”

Later this week, EPIX will offer Shatnerific: A Celebration of Star Trek Fandom on its channel and through its EPIX app on Xbox 360(R).

The star feature of the event, William Shatner‘s Get a Life! will debut on EPIX on July 28.

No one who flies enjoys having to go through the TSA security lines, but for William Shatner, his trip to South Africa began with an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.

Going to South Africa, where he intended to work and then go on safari, meant a twenty-two hour flight, so Shatner wanted to be comfortable on the plane. “I’m going on a long trip to South Africa,” he said. “So I’m wearing very loose clothing…You don’t want anything to bind you.”
