‘Tis the season to be jolly and fans of Zachary Quinto will enjoy a new Before After video that has just been released.
This version of Before After features “Followers, Christmas Sweaters, and Santa and his Elf.”
Zachary Quinto, best-known to Star Trek fans as the new Spock, appeared recently in Susan Blackwell’s Side by Side webseries.
The ten minute video, filmed in a dog park, will be of interest to Quinto fans, who will see him discuss “eyebrows, dingers and Star Trek zingers.”
Star Trek XI‘s Zachary Quinto ended an interview after the interviewer continued to ask questions that Quinto found to be too personal.
In an age of oversharing, Quinto is not someone who feels compelled to share every aspect of his life, and even a question about ice cream ended up being off-limits.
Zachary Quinto, best-known to Star Trek fans as the new Spock, and to sci-fi fans as Sylar, has expressed a desire to have theater as well as movie and television roles become part of his career.
Currently appearing as Louis Ironson in Tony Kushner‘s play Angels in America, Quinto admits that this is part of his plan to achieve that goal. “This is hopefully a declaration of my intention to have theater be a much more significant part of my career from this point forward,” he said. “I look at the work that I’ve done so far as an investment to that end.”
When Heroes was canceled, fans hoped that a movie would provide closure, but the word is that there will not be a Heroes movie after all, much to the disappointment of Zachary Quinto.
Quinto played Sylar in the NBC hit show that lasted for four seasons, and would have been on board for a movie. “It’s disappointing that there was such a lack of resolution,” said Quinto. “But unfortunately, that’s just the nature of network television. Nothing really surprises me in terms of network and studio bureaucracy. It’s the way it goes.
“If it was in their best interest, I’m sure they would have done it. And for whatever reason, they didn’t think it was. So that’s a bummer. But we have to just accept it and move on.”
Archaia’s Lucid #1, the first of a four-issue spy genre comic produced by Zachary Quinto‘s Before The Door media production company, will be released in August.
Written by Michael McMillian (True Blood), Lucid is the story of “Agent Matthew Dee, a modern ‘Combat Mage’ in service of the government whose personal history traces back to real life 16th Century occultist John Dee and whose current fate gets twisted up with an ancient evil from Arthurian legend.”
Leonard Nimoy was once worried about Zachary Quinto taking on the role of Spock. William Shatner‘s concerns from an earlier movie were about Nimoy himself.
Nothing was wrong with Quinto, according to Nimoy, but he had concerns when he heard that the actor had landed the role.
Zachary Quinto will appear in the September revival of Tony Kushner‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Angels in America.
Angels in America is the story of two troubled couples, one gay and one straight, in New York City who try to deal with illness, homosexuality and relationship issues.
Zachary Quinto (Sylar) will have more free time on his hands now that Heroes has been canceled after four seasons.
Heroes may have featured ordinary people with superhuman abilities, but even Sylar couldn’t overcome anemic ratings. NBC canceled the once-popular show after ratings, which once averaged a 6.6 rating/10 share, fell almost thirty percent to a 4.7/7 after the third season.
Zachary Quinto is in a new Funny or Die video, in which he plays three separate roles.
In Before After, Quinto is seen as a matador, a priest performing an exorcism and a clown working at a boy’s birthday party.
Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto were seen at an after-party for the premiere of Rashida Jones‘s new film Monogamy at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Jones (Parks and Recreation), daughter of Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton (Mod Squad) is starring opposite Chris Messina (Law and Order, Six Feet Under) in the drama about two thirty-somethings who seem to have a comfortable life and bright future until a job makes Theo (Messina) confront some uncomfortable truths about himself and his impending marriage.
Zachary Quinto responded yesterday to Leonard Nimoy‘s announcement that Nimoy was retiring.
Sharing his thoughts during WET Production’s Stars Give Love benefit performance of short plays last night, Quinto expressed his thoughts on Nimoy’s announcement.
“There’s not even a script and Leonard just announced his retirement,” said Quinto. “He’s not going to do another movie.
“Frankly, Leonard has got a mind of his own and he’s going to do what he wants regardless of what other people tell him. I’m just glad that he’s my friend.”
Zachary Quinto is a bit bummed that Leonard Nimoy won’t be on board for Star Trek XII.
The last time Nimoy appeared in a Star Trek movie, it took a personal appeal from J.J. Abrams to coax him out of retirement, but Quinto thinks it would take more than that to get Nimoy for the sequel.
“I think I might have to ask him this time,” joked Quinto.
Although Nimoy won’t be on board, Quinto is eager to begin work on Star Trek XII. “Every time J.J. calls, I pick up in a heartbeat,” he said. “I assure you that. And when it’s to tell me to come to work, I’ll be there.”
If negotiations work out, Zachary Quinto may appear in the romantic comedy What’s Your Number?, starring Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie series).
What’s Your Number?, based on the book 20 Times a Lady by Karyn Bosnak, is the story of a young woman, Delilah (Faris), searching for Mr. Right.
Recently, Zachary Quinto mentioned working on other non-science fiction projects and rumor has it that one of those will be a Stephen Spielberg project.
The rumor mill has it that Quinto will play George Gershwin, the composer/pianist who with his brother Ira was responsible for a dozen Broadway musicals as well as popular songs. Gershwin died at the age of 38 of a malignant brain tumor.
According to the rumor, Dreamworks has provided a voice coach for Quinto to help with the Brooklyn accent. Gershwin was born in Brooklyn to Russian parents.
More information will be forthcoming as details emerge.
