For Chris Pine, taking on the role of James T. Kirk was a bit scarier than playing the latest version of Tom Clancy‘s Jack Ryan.
The reason for that was Star Trek‘s passionate fanbase. “Star Trek has a very fervent, avid fanbase that is very protective of their characters and their stories,” said Pine “Jack Ryan not so much.”

In an interview promoting Rise of the Guardians, Chris Pine, who voices Jack Frost, touched briefly on Star Trek Into Darkness.
Pine talked about what Kirk would do in Star Trek Into Darkness, and he also praised Benedict Cumberbatch.

Details about Star Trek Into Darkness have been kept under wraps, including Benedict Cumberbatch‘s role in the movie, but actors like Chris Pine are able to compliment their fellow actors’ work in the movie.
Pine had praise for Cumberbatch, in a “key scene” from the movie. “There’s one scene in it that’s like, you know … in all kinds of heavy science fiction there’s got to be the exposition scene where it’s like, what the hell’s going on? It’s a really, really, really hard scene.”

Star Trek‘s Chris Pine‘s latest project, the computer-animated Rise of the Guardians, will be released next week.
Pine will be voicing Jack Frost, a loner and a “classic rebel without a cause,” who has “incredible weather powers that he controls with the help of his magical staff.”

According to Chris Pine, Star Trek 2 will not be “like the original but darker.”
Star Trek will be taking its own direction, not following that of another recent franchise reboot. “We’re not making Batman,” said Pine. “That is not our deal.”

Star Trek 2‘s Chris Pine will be starring in the untitled Jack Ryan reboot set to be released next year.
The main cast has finally been set and the first rebooted Jack Ryan film will be released in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Chris Pine wasn’t able to say much about Star Trek 2 in a recent interview with MTV, but he gave a little insight into the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch and was full of praise for Cumberbatch.
“There is so much happening in [the] script,” said Pine. “I can’t say much of anything.”

Don’t make assumptions about Star Trek 2 based on the end of Star Trek XI, says Alex Kurtzman.
At the end of Star Trek XI, Kirk was in the captain’s chair and the crew was all together, but that doesn’t mean everything is hunky-dory.

For Chris Pine, working on Star Trek 2 was like being at summer camp, and getting paid for it.
Part of the enjoyment of working on Star Trek 2 was knowing that the writers have written a good story. “The great thing that Alex [Kurtzman], Bob [Orci], Damon [Lindelof] and J.J. [Abrams] are good at is marrying small character driven films with big blockbuster action,” said Pine.

Although some decisions made in Star Trek XI were apt to upset fans, Star Trek 2 Co-writer Alex Kurtzman believes that bold moves are what make for a great movie.
For Chris Pine though, it’s the people, not the major action sequences, that make for a good movie.

According to Chris Pine, Star Trek 2 will “knock people out of their seats.”
Part of the reason for that reaction will be the fact that Star Trek 2 has been shot in IMAX. “They are big cameras,” said Pine of the IMAX cameras. “They are big, loud cameras.”

Recently, Star Trek 2‘s Chris Pine was sued by his former talent agency, SDB Partners, but the two parties have come to terms on a settlement.
According the SDG Partners, they took a chance on Pine back in 2002 when “nobody was willing to touch [him],” and helped the actor to land various roles including that of James T. Kirk in Star Trek XI.

Star Trek 2‘s Chris Pine is in talks for a role in a revival of 1955′s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
The original Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, penned by Tennessee Williams, was the story of a dysfunctional Mississippi family, gathered together to share the birthday of the dying patriarch of that family, “Big Daddy” Pollitt.

The comedy is called Mantivities, and was co-written by Pine, Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau.
