Arlene Martel Passes

Arlene Martel, best-known to Star Trek fans as T’Pring, the fiancée who jilted Spock in Amok Time, has passed away.

The actress was seventy-eight years old and died today due to complications after recent heart surgery.

Although fans know her for playing the woman who rejected Spock, Arlene Martel was up for two other Star Trek roles before she landed the role of T’Pring.

Martel originally auditioned for Where No Man Has Gone Before, but she had to say “no” to the role due to her sensitive eyes. “I couldn’t do it because I would have had to have worn contact lenses,” she said. “My eyes are very sensitive and I said, ‘I can’t do it.’ They said, ‘Well, something else is coming up…'”


Trek Actors To Appear At Collectible Show

This Saturday, June 13th, eight Star Trek actors will be appearing at the Frank & Son Collectible Show located in City of Industry, California.

As reported by Frank & Son Collectible Show, Star Trek Day will be held this Saturday, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the autograph signing and photo-op where fans who wish to add to their autograph and photo collections can purchase autographs or photo-ops from Star Trek actors seen in the original series, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager.
