Fort Lauderdale resident Johnnie Blade decided to play the Klingon in the middle of a residential intersection, wielding a Klingon Bat’leth.

The man was “wildly swinging” the four-foot long sword and “proudly displaying” it to passing motorists.

Players of Star Trek Online are invited to an “in-game Klingon event” to be held during the first week of April.

The Klingon Awareness Week will be held from April 1-7, and will include “community sponsored Klingon PvP (Player vs. Player) combat play; player-authored Foundry missions; fleet actions; participation in joint mission play; and much more!

“Forum discussions, event calendars, downloadable guide books, mission recommendations and reviews, plus podcasts and videos, will be available for this Klingon-centric event.  Additional information can be found on GatesofStovokor.com and StarbaseUGC.com, and the schedule of events can be found at the referring site.

With filming to begin next month on the newest Star Trek movie, rumor has it that a familiar race will be back and that they will be dogged by another familiar race.

Part of the fun of waiting for the new Star Trek movie is reading what emerges in the way of information and rumors, and once the movie is released, seeing if any of the rumors were true. Spoilers are past the cut.

Klingon wannabes who live in the D.C. area are invited to an open casting call for Klingon and Shakespeare extras for By Any Other Name: An Evening of Shakespeare in Klingon.

The performance, by the Washington Shakespeare Company, will be held on September 25 but the casting call is for seven days earlier, September 18.

First there was Klingon opera. Now fans of both Klingons and Shakespeare can see selections of Shakespeare classics performed in the Klingon language as well as in English.

On September 25 in Arlington, Virginia, the Washington Shakespeare Company will perform an evening of Shakespeare, featuring selections from Hamlet and Much Ado About Nothing.

When Ultralingua needed someone to create applications for a Klingon dictionary, they turned to linguist d’Armond Speers, who came with interesting credentials, he had taught his own son Klingonese from an early age.

Some parents who love Star Trek plop their toddler in front of the television and pop in Star Trek DVDs hoping to make future fans, but Speers, who claims to not be a huge Star Trek fan, seems to top them all.

A trailer for Star Trek: Online, from the point of view of the Klingon Empire, has appeared online.

In a short trailer, a Federation Science Station Delta Nine is under attack and calls for Federation assistance.

“Their Federation is a force for peace,” says a Klingon voice. “They are explorers, but not conquerors. They are cowards! They are weak! And yet, they think they are superior. By the blood of Kahless, they are wrong!”

Fans attending this year’s Comic-Con will be able to purchase a limited edition Hallmark ornament featuring Lieutenant Uhura.

As reported by TrekMovie.com, the limited edition ornament, which features Lieutenant Uhura in a gold uniform, should sell out quickly, with only four hundred and fifty of them being offered for sale at this year’s Comic-Con.

Star Trek fans now have a chance to own a six-foot-tall wax figure of Captain Kirk and/or Mr. Spock.

As reported by MarketWatch, the Hollywood Wax Museum will be offering hand-sculpted wax figures, including several Star Trek characters, in an auction by Profiles in History on May 1. (more…)
