Tickets for the IMAX showing of Star Trek into Darkness went on sale yesterday in the UK, and fan demand was so high that it crashed the IMAX website.

The same high demand also caused difficulties for the ODEON online ticket sales site.

For fans unable to get tickets for the May 15 Star Trek into Darkness IMAX showing, another show time has been added due to the strong demand to see the movie.

The 8 PM IMAX Star Trek into Darkness shows have been sold out, especially in larger cities such as Los Angeles and New York, so in response, Paramount has added an 11 PM showing of the movie.

Tickets for the additional screening can be purchased through the Star Trek app, Google Play, and at IMAX box offices.

Two things were offered to fans who downloaded the Star Trek into Darkness app and used it during last night’s Super Bowl.

Fans were treated to a slightly longer Super Bowl Star Trek into Darkness ad, and the news of an early IMAX release for the movie.

Mulgrew in Iowa

As reported by The Telegraph Herald, Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway,) will be the keynote speaker at the Dubuque County (Iowa) Democrats’ annual Hall of Fame Banquet on Tuesday, April 28.

Mulgrew’s father, T.J., will be inducted posthumously into the Hall of Fame.
