In response to the controversy about Alice Eve‘s Marcus underwear scene in Star Trek into Darkness, J.J. Abrams released a cut scene featuring a showering Benedict Cumberbatch‘s John Harrison.
Abrams appeared on Conan last night, where Conan addressed the Marcus underwear scene controversy.
Last night, Alice Eve was on Conan and two short clips featuring the actress on the show have been released.
In the clips, Eve reveals that she was attracted to performing from a young age, had a teacher whose negative comments made her determined to succeed in school, and was initially a bit confused during a call from J.J. Abrams to her regarding Star Trek into Darkness.
Damon Lindelof has taken a bit of heat lately for the Alice Eve underwear scene and now he has responded to the criticism.
The scene in question was heavily featured in ad spots promoting the movie.
This morning, Damon Lindelof, Chris Pine, Alice Eve and John Cho joined astronauts Mike Finke, Kjell Lindgren (Houston), and Chris Cassidy (on the ISS) in an hour-long NASA broadcast in a “space bridge” webcast at Google+ Hangout.
J.J. Abrams, due to attend, was unable to do so, but submitted his intriguing question via taped video.
In a short video, Simon Pegg and Alice Eve explain how they perfected their Scottish accents.
“The thing is with accents,” said Pegg, “is that there’s often a little phrase you need to sort of enter in; that’s like the key to it.”
With the opening of Star Trek into Darkness, the actors will be guests on quite a few shows in the next two weeks.

Today is the premiere of Star Trek into Darkness in Germany, and some of the Star Trek actors took part in a photocall yesterday in Berlin ahead of the event.

For Alice Eve, getting ready to play Dr. Carol Marcus meant doing a bit of research.
Eve knows the backstory of the character. “She’s dug, dug into there,” said Eve. “Dr. Marcus is a weapons specialist with a PhD. She’s incredibly intelligent and highly qualified. In the canon, she has Kirk’s baby. In Wrath of Khan, she is the mother of his grown son.”
