Shatner’s New Trek Documentary

William Shatner is making another Star Trek documentary but this one is not about the original series.

The documentary, titled Wacky Doodle, will document the first two years of production on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

“It’s about how crazy it was; how difficult it was to get it started and do it right,” said Shatner.

The ever-busy William Shatner has begun a new project, this one focusing on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The actor spoke about his new project ahead of his forthcoming appearance at Destination Star Trek London, at which all five television Star Trek captains will be appearing later this month.

Takei Documentary

Star Trek‘s George Takei is going to be the subject of a new documentary.

The documentary, filmed by Jennifer Kroot (It Came from Kuchar), will feature interviews by Star Trek co-workers as well as several politician friends of Takei.

Goldberg Hopes To Make Mabley Documentary

Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Whoopi Goldberg is seeking funding in hopes of making a documentary about comedian Moms Mabley.

Moms Mabley (Loretta Mary Aiken) was a comedy pioneer who influenced Goldberg. “Moms Mabley was a pioneer in the comedy world and this documentary will showcase her talent and pay homage to a woman who is still relevant today,” said Goldberg. “Without Moms there certainly would not have been a Whoopi.”

Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Behind The Scenes

A ten minute behind-the-scenes “making of” documentary featurette reel for Star Trek: The Motion Picture has been posted to YouTube.

“Space, the final frontier. Gene Roddenberry invites you to go where few have gone before, behind the scenes of Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” says the narrator of featurette, before taking fans on a trip to the movie-making world of 1979.
