Several of the actors from Star Trek Into Darkness spoke about their characters and the movie while on a promotional tour in Japan.

The Japanese press saw the first nine minutes of the movie, but have to keep mum on what they saw until the preview officially debuts on December 14 at the IMAX screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Details about Star Trek Into Darkness have been kept under wraps, including Benedict Cumberbatch‘s role in the movie, but actors like Chris Pine are able to compliment their fellow actors’ work in the movie.

Pine had praise for Cumberbatch, in a “key scene” from the movie. “There’s one scene in it that’s like, you know … in all kinds of heavy science fiction there’s got to be the exposition scene where it’s like, what the hell’s going on? It’s a really, really, really hard scene.”

Star Trek Into Darkness‘ Benedict Cumberbatch is in talks to join a Monty Python comedy project.

The project, Absolutely Anything, will be directed by Terry Jones and feature voiceovers from Monty Python alumni as well as from Robin Williams.

Star Trek into Darkness‘ Benedict Cumberbatch is set to star in a new biography about Brian Epstein former manager of The Beatles.

The focus of the movie isn’t Epstein’s view of The Beatles, as might be expected, but Epstein himself.

Epstein was the manager of The Beatles until his death from a drug overdose in 1967.

The Epstein movie screenplay has been written by Todd Graff, and the film will be produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Simon Halfon.

Benedict Cumberbatch has joined the many actors who have had words of praise for J.J. Abrams.

Cumberbatch spoke briefly about Star Trek 2 first, claiming that working on the sequel was “an amazing experience.”

Benedict Cumberbatch, the mystery villain of Star Trek Into Darkness, won two awards at the 16th TVChoice awards last night.

Both of Cumberbatch’s awards came as a result of his work on the BBC’s Sherlock.

Cumberbatch won one award for Best Actor, and another for Sherlock, which won for Best Drama Series.

While Benedict Cumberbatch enjoyed playing an “iconic” villain in Star Trek 2, denying rumors about the identity of said rumor has proven to be tiresome for the actor.

It was “really, really good fun,” said Cumberbatch of his Star Trek 2 role. “It’s a great part and it’s really well written. I enjoyed the fights and the stunts, there’s lots of that and it really is proper action movie territory.”

The ever-busy Benedict Cumberbatch will be appearing in an adaptation of Ford Madox Ford‘s Parade’s End series of novels.

Cumberbatch will be portraying cuckolded husband Christopher Tietjens, in the drama which begins in the years before World War I.
