Fontana To Judge Trek Fan Fiction Contest

STARFLEET, the world’s oldest and largest continuously-active Star Trek fan club, has announced that one of its guest judges for the second annual STARFLEET Short Story Contest is none other than Dorothy (D.C.) Fontana.

Authors will need to be members of STARFLEET to submit their Star Trek fan fiction, which should not exceed 7,500 words in length and which must take place within the fictional science fiction universe of Star Trek.

Star Trek Easter Egg Contest Winner Announced

An eagle-eyed fan spotted R2D2 in Star Trek XI, winning himself an official Star Trek XI movie prop.

As reported at the Star Trek Facebook page, Scott H. of Erie, Colorado found R2D2 in Star Trek XI and his name was chosen randomly from those who had the correct answer, winning him a phaser prop.

For those who had entered the contest and hunted for the Star Wars robot in Star Trek XI, the Star Trek Facebook page provided the location of the robot. “During the drill machine sequence as the Enterprise comes out of its barrel role amidst destruction of the other Federation ships above Vulcan, we cut to an interior Enterprise bridge over the shoulder of Kirk that is looking out through the front viewscreen. In space, R2-D2 is floating in the debris from about the top middle of the screen to the bottom right.”
