As reported by TrekMovie.com, the thirty-second long commercial shows a bit more of some scenes to fans. The bar fight scene begins with shot of the bar from a distance and shows a Starfleet Academy cadet confronting Kirk before the fight begins. In a new scene, Kirk tosses his motorcycle keys to a worker at the shipyards where the Enterprise is being built, saying “It’s yours,” after the man admires his “ride.”

Other new scenes show Kirk on the grounds of Starfleet Academy, and Kirk fighting with a Romulan in one scene and with Spock in another.

As seen on YouTube, and shown here, the commercial, which ran on Nickelodeon during the Kid’s Choice Awards and which featured an appearance of Chris Pine (Kirk,) offered some new footage.

In other Star Trek XI news, the Official Star Trek XI movie site has posted a synopsis of the movie. “The greatest adventure of all time begins with ‘Star Trek,’ the incredible story of a young crew’s maiden voyage onboard the most advanced starship ever created: the U.S.S. Enterprise. On a journey filled with action, comedy, and cosmic peril, the new recruits must find a way to stop an evil being whose mission of vengeance threatens all of mankind.”

“The fate of the galaxy rests in the hands of bitter rivals. One, James Kirk (Chris Pine,) is a delinquent, thrill-seeking Iowa farm boy. The other, Spock (Zachary Quinto,) was raised in a logic-based society that rejects all emotion. As fiery instinct clashes with calm reason, their unlikely but powerful partnership is the only thing capable of leading their crew through unimaginable danger, boldly going where no one has gone before!”

As reported by TrekMovie.com, the thirty-second commercial is comprised mostly of scenes seen before in previous trailers and commercials, but a discerning eye can pick out a few new bits.
One scene shows Kirk in an icy cave on Delta Velga. A rather blurry older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) can be seen in the background. Other scenes include Narada’s drilling rig and the destruction of another planet.

As reported by Mediabistro.com, Star Trek fans may have reason to pay attention to the forthcoming Burger King Star Trek XI commercials, as the word is that filming took place on the set of the Enterprise.Not only was the set of the Enterprise used in filming, but Star Trek XI Cinematographer Daniel Mindel and Production Designer Scott Chambliss were involved in the filming.

Burger King has done or will do promotions for other 2009 films, hoping to “resonate with super fans and super families globally,” according to Burger King CEO John Chidsey. The newest Pink Panther movie came out last month and the Burger King promotion for it included things such as an instant win game where customers had a chance to win one of thirty diamond and pink sapphire necklaces, as well as a toy giveaway with the purchase of a kid’s meal that featured toys based on The Pink Panther. Burger King will also do tie-in promotions for the Transformers movie due out this summer.
