For fans of J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek, a new comic based on the Trek reboot goes on sale tomorrow.

Written by Mike Johnson, with artwork by Stephen Molnar and covers by Tim Bradstreet and David Messina, Star Trek #1 features the new Star Trek cast on a mission based on the original series’ Where No Man Has Gone Before.

In Star Trek #1, “The adventures of the Starship Enterprise continue in this new ongoing series that picks up where the blockbuster 2009 film left off! With creative collaboration from Star Trek writer/producer Roberto Orci, this new series begins the countdown to the much-anticipated movie sequel premiering in 2012. Join Kirk, Spock and the crew as they boldly go into a new future!”

There will be two different covers for Star Trek #1. They will be shipped on a 4-to-1 ratio (four of the Tim Bradstreet cover, which is pictured above, to one of the David Messina cover, which can be seen at the referring site).

Star Trek #1 will be thirty-two pages in length and will cost $3.99.
