Star Trek XI‘s John Cho (Sulu) is excited about the new movie and has his own idea about what he would like to see in the sequel to J.J. Abrams‘s blockbuster.

Cho acknowledged that Star Trek XII will appear in 2012 and although he doesn’t know any details on the movie yet, is confident that it will be good, no matter what the story is. “Those are clever cats they’ve got over there and I’m excited about what it will be,” he said. “Whether it will be something we’ve seen in the Star Trek universe, whether it will continue to go into new directions…it will be interesting. I think they must have locked down a concept or an idea because I heard there was a big meeting, but I haven’t seen them since and I haven’t heard where they’re going with it.”

Cho: FlashForward

What will happen to John Cho‘s role in FlashForward when it comes time to film Star Trek XII?

Cho, who plays FBI agent Demetri Noh, might have to face the possibility of a schedule conflict, but for now, he’s enjoying his new role. “You know for me as an actor it’s kind of a unique situation not knowing where the character is going,” he said. “Not having a full script. Typically in a movie you know how the movie ends, and you sort of map out your performance. This one we’re kind of winging it, because the actors don’t know what’s going on from episode to episode. It’s a very unique scenario, but it’s exciting.”
