Saldana Signs For Sequels

Star Trek into Darkness Zoë Saldana will be reprising her role of Neytiri in several Avatar sequels.

Three sequels to the movie will be made, with the first one arriving in theaters in December 2016.

Star Trek XI‘s Zoë Saldana wants information about the sequels to both Avatar and Star Trek XI.

“You can expect them to be amazing but we’re going to have to wait,” she said.

However, Saldana herself is not content to wait. “I email Jim [Cameron] and J.J. [Abrams] to see if I can get a little bit of information,” she said, “and I don’t know if it’s a trend of mine or if I just psychologically gravitate towards these directors that are very secretive, but they’re definitely talented.”

Saldana’s most recent film, Burning Palms, premiered last night and releases tomorrow.

Cameron: Competing With Trek

Writer-director James Cameron would like to see the Avatar world of Pandora be ranked up with the Star Trek Federation, Star Wars Empire and Tolkien worlds.

If Cameron had his way, Avatar, the highest-grossing film in history, would remain in the hearts and minds of fans for decades, with the inevitable toys, games and books to appear in due course.
