Auberjonois As Chef Louis

The Little Mermaid was released today in Blu-ray and DVD format, and amongst the characters in the popular children’s movie is one voiced by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine‘s Rene Auberjonois.

Auberjonois voiced the character of Chef Louis, best remembered for his Les Poissons song.

Star Trek Art Show

Auberjonois: Directing Deep Space Nine

While on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Rene Auberjonois directed eight episodes of the show, but unlike some actors, he prefers to stick to acting.

The directing jobs came as a result of Rick Berman. “I blame Rick Berman for putting me through that,” said Auberjonois. “It was a real education.”

Auberjonois: Revisiting Odo

Rene Auberjonois shared his thoughts recently on playing Odo, including what he thought the character would be, how Odo evolved, and Odo’s relationship with Quark and with Kira Nerys.

One of the aspects that Auberjonois liked about Odo was knowing next to nothing about the character and watching him evolve. “So, where I thought in the beginning that I didn’t want to know where he was from and loved that it was a mystery, I also loved the fact that when we got a script – one that focused on Odo and his world – I’d learn something new that I didn’t know about the character,” said Auberjonois. “I would have to ingest it and incorporate it into this character that was being built over seven years.

Creation Entertainment Star Trek Convention Highlights

Last weekend, fans who attended the Creation Entertainment Official Star Trek Convention were entertained by many actors from various Star Trek series, including Nichelle Nichols, Leonard Nimoy, Grace Lee Whitney, the Duras Sisters, Connor Trinneer, Dominic Keating, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois and other guest stars.

On the first day of the convention, held in San Francisco, Richard Arnold, former assistant to Gene Roddenberry, started things off with a 45th anniversary slideshow and reminisced about 1970s fandom and the birth of the Star Trek conventions.

Creation Hopes To Break Guiness World Record At Vegas Convention This Week

In addition to hosting over seventy Star Trek celebs at their annual Las Vegas Star Trek Convention, running this week from Thursday through Sunday at the Las Vegas Hilton, Creation Entertainment is gunning for the Guiness World Record for the “largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters.”

Trek Actors As Directors

For some Star Trek actors, the directors chair was the next logical career move; with some actors only directing Star Trek episodes, while others branched out to other shows and movies.

In a new article at Geek Speak Magazine, the directing careers of Star Trek alumni are explored. Each actor began his or her directing career by directing Star Trek episodes.

Auberjonois To Appear In Warehouse 13

René Auberjonois, best-known to Star Trek fans as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s Odo, will be seen in a Warehouse 13 episode in August.

Warehouse 13 and Eureka, two series from Syfy, will be joined together in a pair of crossover episodes this summer.
