The exhibition will be held in the Generation Pop art gallery in Manchester, beginning on September 9.

Artwork has been brought in from Los Angeles and New York, and features pieces from Ryan Church, Geoffrey Mandel, Dave Merrell and Brian Rood.

Church was the Concept Designer for Star Trek XI. Mandel has been associated with Star Trek since the days of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.  Merrell and Rood have both created new Star Trek artwork for Iron Gut Publishing.

On September 8, officially beginning the 45th anniversary of Star Trek, Trek fans will be able to upload images to be included as part of three officially licensed Star Trek photo mosaics.

These images will then be used to re-create Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock and the U.S.S. Enterprise on separate mosaic photos, which will be offered as limited-edition prints to those fans participating.

“Only 2,500 fans can submit images for and own each individual Star Trek photo mosaic; 1,701 can submit images for and own the Deluxe Edition Set featuring all three photos.”

“We’re so excited to offer this unique way to mark Star Trek’s 45th anniversary,” said Fan Mosaics’ Director of Fan & Brand Development Rob Hixenbaugh.” Star Trek fans are so passionate and so involved with the characters and the actors who portrayed them, and these photo mosaic projects take that involvement one step further. They include the fans in the Star Trek experience in a new and memorable way.”

“To participate, fans can visit the Star Trek Fan Mosaics web page, located at www.FanMosaics.com/StarTrek. They can choose to upload an image for one Star Trek photo mosaic or the Deluxe Edition Set of all three. Included in the cost is the image upload, one limited-edition 24″x 36″ print of each mosaic they’ve selected and a numbered certificate of participation and authenticity.”

The art will be offered as “a variety of pieces in various editions and at a wide range of prices,” with each piece of art being accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.

Artists who will be working on the art pieces include: Geoffrey Mandel, Ryan Church, Brian Rood, Randy Martinez, Dave Merrell and Paul Oz.

“As a Star Trek fan, I visited many conventions over the years in England,” said Iron Gut owner Anthony Marks. “But it was only when I visited San Diego Comic-Con did I realize that there were beautiful pieces of animation and film related art out there available to buy from studios such as Marvel, Warner Bros and Disney but besides a lot of fan art, there was no official Star Trek fine art program and this is what we are trying to create. We are working with the very best illustrators and artists all over the world to create a range of fine art that would look amazing on any collector’s wall.”

Prices for entry-level art will begin at $25.00, and be limited to a run of five thousand pieces. Some of the art will be available via art galleries and specialist websites, and some of it is already available here, such as the pieces pictured above, featuring Spock.

The Star Trek merchandise includes toys, busts, games, candy and clothes.

“The Star Trek brand has only grown in popularity in recent years thanks to a whole new generation of fans discovering the property through the film,” said Liz Kalodner, EVP and General Manager of CBS Consumer Products. “These new products, based on both the television and film versions, are just another great way for fans to connect with the franchise.”

• Pez Candy: Pez collector’s set (to be released in 2012) will celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Next Generation. U.S.

Artist Devorah Sperber has created another Star Trek sculpture made out of spools, chenille stems and semi-translucent beads.

In the lobby of the Microsoft Studio D office in Redmond, Washington is a unique sculpture, which appears to show the crew of the original series materializing before their eyes.

The sculpture, created by Sperber, was inspired by the original series episode Mirror, Mirror, although the crewmembers are not in their Mirror, Mirror uniform versions, alas.

This is not Sperber’s first Star Trek sculpture. TrekToday reported on Sperber’s Trek artwork two years ago. In addition to the Mirror, Mirror-inspired sculpture, she has also done a “Holodeck: Simulation Program” and the Bridge from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

As reported by James Clyne, almost two dozen images have been uploaded to Clyne’s website. This artwork includes scenes such as exterior and interior shots of the Narada, the drill platform and a scene in which men are diving down to the platform, the bridge of a Federation ship, several shots of the Vulcan capital and a scene above Vulcan with the remnants of destroyed starships.

As seen at Eavesdropping with Johnny, fans of Eaves can see samples of various ships, and look forward to a “Starship of the day,” where a different starship, such as a recent entry featuring a small Cardassian fighter, is offered daily.The forty-six-year old Eaves has a long Star Trek resume, dating back to Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and continuing through present-day Star Trek as a conceptual illustrator for Star Trek XI. Eaves was a production illustrator for both Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Enterprise, and he is currently working on Star Trek: Online as a design consultant.

In addition to Star Trek, Eaves has worked as a concept illustrator on Tropic Thunder, Valkyrie, Race to Witch Mountain as well as the forthcoming Virtuality and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

As reported by Sci Fi Wire, three models of the Star Trek XI Enterprise are being shown at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood.

The thirty-four-inch-long replicas were cast from the actual 3-D digital models created for Star Trek XI by Industrial Light & Magic. Each model was done by a different artist, ranging from FX Company/Quantum Mechanix, to two L.A.-area street artists.

As reported by TrekMovie.com, Richter, the owner of the Light Works graphics studio in Cologne, Germany, does visual effects for games, television and movies.Richter has done some graphic work in the past on DVD covers for Paramount Home Entertainment. His new Star Trek XI Enterprise work is based only on material in the public arena; from the official image release, the three trailers and from some images of forthcoming toys.

The images include one of the Enterprise with the Earth and Moon in the background, several other shots of the ship near planets (one with asteroids surrounding the ship,) and other pictures of the Enterprise in space.

On Richter’s website, located here, there are more images from Star Trek that were created for the official Star Trek magazine. These include various Federation ships with some of them around various space ports. For Klingon fans, there are several Klingon ships, including one that has landed on Qo’noS.
