Several days ago, the villain for the forthcoming Star Trek video game was announced, and today, players can see what the alien will look like.
One of the more painful aspects of the original series episode Arena, in which the Gorn was first seen, was the rather fake-looking Gorn, but in the new Star Trek game, the Gorn looks like a creature to be feared, not scorned.

For fans of the original series episode Arena, a new giclee print will feature Captain Kirk and the Gorn.
The limited edition giclee, from Iron Gut Publishing, was created by British artist Dave Merrell and is hand-numbered and hand-signed by Merrell.
Fans of the original series Gorn of Arena will be pleased to hear about the latest merchandise which features the green-skinned reptile.
The Gorn, sculpted by Jim Maddox, with paint masters by Jeff Camp, is a thirteen-inch tall statue sculpted in 1:6 scale.
Star Trek fans know Bobby Clark as the Gorn who took on Captain Kirk (and lost) in the popular original series episode Arena.
Clark actually appeared more than once on Star Trek, due to his acquaintance with director Joseph Pevney. “I was in The Apple, Mirror, Mirror, The Return of the Archons and Arena,” said Clark. Arena was the first one. I got Star Trek because I’d done a lot of work on other shows with a director named Joseph Pevney. We knew each other. We got along real. He knew how I worked and so forth and so on, and I knew what he wanted and needed. When he and Gene Roddenberry talked about Arena, they of course talked about the Gorn, and Joseph knew who he wanted to play that character. When the time came, he called me in, and that was it.”
When Central Missouri Astronomical Association Treasurer Randall Durk phoned original series cast members in hopes of autographs, he got more than that for which he bargained when one of them showed up in person.
A chance call to actors from the original series resulted in a surprise visit by Star Trek: The Menagerie guest star Sean Kenney, who gave a talk to a small group on Monday.
