Takei Joins Trump Reality Show

Star Trek‘s George Takei will be one of the eighteen people on the new season of Celebrity Apprentice.

In Celebrity Apprentice, the celebrity contestants vie to raise money and awareness for their charity of choice, with the last person standing “hired” as the “Celebrity Apprentice” who will then have the honor of delivering a check for $250,000 to his or her favorite charity.

Shatner To Appear On Broadway

Fans in the Big Apple in February will have the chance to see William Shatner appearing on Broadway in a one-man show.

The one-man show is called Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It and it will run for several weeks at the Music Box Theater in February.

Takei: Trek And War Fans, Unite!

According to George Takei, Star Trek and Star Wars fans shouldn’t be fighting each other, but instead should be uniting against another fandom.

After the recent online exchange between Star Trek‘s William Shatner and Star WarsCarrie Fisher, Takei decided to jump in with his own opinion on the fandom war, with a three minute video, George Takei is the Broker of Star Peace.

Trek Nation To Debut Tomorrow

Airing tomorrow, November 30, on the Science Channel at 8 PM, Trek Nation, produced and narrated by Rod Roddenberry, is a documentary about Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek, and the people involved with Star Trek over the years.

In making Trek Nation, Rod Roddenberry interviewed those who worked with his father over the years, including industry professionals who knew Gene Roddenberry, family friends, and Star Trek fans.

Kane: Kelley and Doohan

Voice actor Tom Kane, a fan of Star Trek from his childhood days, got to work with his heroes when doing voice work for Star Trek games.

“Being a voice-over guy in Hollywood has afforded me some really amazingly wonderful encounters with people that just never would have happened anywhere else,” Kane said.

For fans of William Shatner, he will be appearing on the Piers Morgan Tonight show this evening.

Piers Morgan Tonight is an hour-long interview show airing on CNN, featuring Piers Morgan, and airing at 9 PM on CNN.

Tonight,  Shatner will be one of the guests on the show, where he will talk about Star Trek, comedy, his family and more.

Shatner: Beware Exploding Turkeys!

With the American Thanksgiving holiday approaching, William Shatner and insurance company State Farm have created “Eat, Fry, Love,” a tongue-in-cheek video warning about the dangers of turkey fryers.

Shatner has used a turkey fryer himself in the past. “I love to fry turkey and have been doing it for years but I am not immune to frying accidents,” he said.

November-December Conventions and Appearances

There will be four conventions, shows or appearances in November and December that feature actors or authors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from all five of the televised series and from several of the Star Trek movies.

November begins with René Auberjonois taking part in A Smut Sampler, at the Harry Ransom Center (Jessen Auditorium) at the University of Texas at Austin on Thursday, November 3 at 7 PM. The program, A Smut Sampler: A Light-Hearted Reading of Selections from Some Notorious Banned Books, is hosted by Isaiah Sheffler and will feature readings from books that were “banned, burned, seized and censored” in the past.

Hartley: Schtupping Spock

Mariette Hartley‘s role as Zarabeth in the original series episode All Our Yesterdays is still a fan favorite, and the actress remembers her guest appearance very well, even forty-odd-years later.

But Hartley is surprised that she’s not the only one who remembers the role after so many years. “[People are] still fascinated by [Zarabeth],” she said, after attending last summer’s Creation Entertainment Official Star Trek Convention. “I’m just so stunned. I go there and it’s like going to a foreign country, with so many people in different costumes, dressed as different characters. I’ve met a few Borg, actually. It’s so bizarre and wonderful, and I kept thinking, ‘Are they going to have things like this for Grey’s Anatomy in 20 years?’ This has such a very special heat, still, to it.”

The Captains Now Available To Be Streamed

Star Trek fans wanting to see William Shatner‘s The Captains documentary who are also Netflix customers can now stream the movie.

Although fans can’t yet rent The Captains on DVD through Netflix, they can stream it if they subscribe to that service.

In The Captains, William Shatner interviewed the other actors who have played Star Trek captains on various Star Trek televised shows.

For those wanting their own copy of The Captains, the DVD was released on October 18th and is available through Amazon and other retailers.

Shatner: Life Lessons

William Shatner is performing his one-man show all over the world and sharing his life lessons with his audiences as well as revising his show based on feedback from those audiences.

When doing  his show in Australia, Shatner realized that he was getting something emotionally from the show. “I’m doing it because I did it in Australia and I was moved at times to tears in telling people about things I was doing, that I have done, lessons I was able to learn — to cull, if you will,” he said.

The Captains TV Alert

Canadian viewers will finally be able to see The Captains, William Shatner‘s documentary about the various actors who have played captains on the televised Star Trek series, on Canadian television tonight.

The Captains will air tonight on Canada’s The Movie Network, at 9 PM ET, and on Movie Central at 8 PM PT.

The Captains is a “documentary that explores the life and remarkable career of William Shatner, the Canadian-born actor who took the character of Captain James T. Kirk into a new level of universal popularity. The film will explore the impact the role had on his life, why the character has become such an integral part of our pop culture, and how the role has affected other actors who have taken on the mantle of Starship Captain.

Star Trek‘s William Shatner will be a guest on Yes Network’s CenterStage show this Tuesday where he will speak about his time on Star Trek.

CenterStage is an hour-long one-on-one interview show taped in front of a live studio audience.
