Nimoy To Appear On The Big Bang Theory

Leonard Nimoy, has come briefly out of retirement to do some voice work for The Big Bang Theory.

Nimoy will be heard on the March 29th episode, where he will play Spock in one of Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) dreams.

The Big Bang Theory has had several other Star Trek actors on the show, including George Takei, Wil Wheaton, LeVar Burton and Brent Spiner.

The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS on Thursdays at 9 PM.

Two Trek Actors Against SAG-AFTRA Merger

Two actors from the original series have joined more than forty actors who are against a merger of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).

The merger of SAG and AFTRA would combine SAG’s 140,000 members and AFTRA’s 80,000 members, some of whom have membership in both groups.

Lost Spinrad Trek Script Found

After being lost for forty-five years, He Walked Among Us, Norman Spinrad‘s unproduced Star Trek script is has come to light.

Spinrad is best-known to Star Trek fans for the superb original series episode, The Doomsday Machine. But that was not the only Star Trek script written by the author. In 1967, the author penned He Walked Among Us.

Shatner Good Morning America Appearance

William Shatner sat down recently with Good Morning America‘s Josh Elliott for a short interview where the topics included his age, why he decided to do Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It and his relationship with Star Trek fandom.

Opening night on Broadway for Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It and dinner afterwards at Sardi’s brought something unexpected and unwanted by Shatner, and it wasn’t bad reviews.

Mixed Reviews For Shatner One-Man Show

Reviews are appearing for William Shatner‘s Shatner’s World: We All Just Live in It,” and while some critics enjoyed the trek into the world of Shatner, others were less than impressed.

Shatner’s World: We All Just Live in It runs through March 4 at Broadway’s Music Box Theater after which it will be seen in fifteen U.S. cities, finishing up in Detroit on April 19.

Shatner To Host Award Ceremony

Star Trek‘s William Shatner has been tapped to host the 2012 Juno Awards.

The Juno Awards are chosen by the members of the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and presented to Canadian musical artists and/or bands for musical or technical achievement.

This year’s ceremony will be held on April 1 at Ottawa’s Scotiabank place, and will be aired on CTV. Performers will include Feist, Deadmau5 and City & Colour.

Takei To Appear With Symphony Orchestra

Star Trek‘s George Takei will be performing with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra in Ode to Joy later this month.

Ode to Joy will be performed on February 25 and 26 at the Robinson Center Music Hall in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Leonard Nimoy has been offered what most Star Trek fans would love to be given, an invitation to visit the Star Trek 2 set.

“I’ve been invited to visit the set of the new Star Trek film,” said Nimoy via his Twitter feed. “Hope to do that next week.”

Shatner’s World To Travel The U.S.

William Shatner’s one-man show, Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It, will be seen in fifteen U.S. cities after it finishes a three-week run on Broadway.

The show, two hours in length, will “take audiences on a voyager through Shatner’s life and career,” from his earliest days as a stage actor to “internationally known icon and raconteur.”

Perry: Tomorrow Is Yesterday’s Captain John Christopher

Roger Perry, who played Air Force Captain John Christopher in the original series episode Tomorrow is Yesterday, remembers landing the job and he shares a Shatner makeup room moment.

Being cast as Christopher was a snap for Perry. “I remember that it was one of the easiest jobs I ever got,” he explained. “To this day, I don’t understand why it was so easy.”

Nimoy’s Former House Sold

The house in which Leonard Nimoy and his wife Sandra resided during the late 1960s while he was working on the original series has been sold.

In 1968, while Nimoy was playing Spock on Star Trek, he and wife Sandra Zober purchased a house in the Westwood-area of Los Angeles.

January-February 2012 Conventions

There will be five conventions, shows or appearances in January and February that feature actors of interest to Star Trek fans. This listing of conventions and shows features actors from four of the televised series and several of the Star Trek movies.

January begins with Albuquerque Comic Con, which will run from January 13-15 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Albuquerque. In attendance will be Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Brent Spiner.

Next up is Oz Trek 7, to be held January 28-29 at the Rydges Melbourne, in Melbourne, Australia. In attendance at Oz Trek 7 will be Walter Koenig and Chase Masterson.
