Three new Star Trek beach/bath towels are now available for pre-order at StarTrek.com.

The one hundred percent towels come in three colors; Kirk Gold, Spock Blue and Security/Engineering Red.

Each towel is printed on one side in a “uniform-style print featuring the appropriate department symbol and braiding.”

The towels will measure 30″ by 56″ and will sell for $29.99 per towel, or $79.99 for the set of three. Pre-orders are being taken now at the Star Trek Official Store.

Covers can now be seen for the four 2013 Star Trek line of calendars.

The four calendars include: Ships of the Line, The Original Series, the Star Trek Captain’s 2013 Day-to-Day Calendar and the Star Trek Captain’s Log 2013 Engagement Calendar.

The Ships of the Line calendar is “A longtime favorite among serious Trekkers and casual fans alike.” This Star Trek 2013 Ships of the Line gives Star Trek features spectacular illustrations of the ships and vessels from the various series, films, and Starfleet history. Each spread takes the viewer into the very heart of the Star Trek universe.”

The Star Trek Captain’s 2013 Day-to-Day Calendar features “quotations from each of the franchise’s television series and films, lore from the Star Trek universe, and trivia from over four decades of Trekker mania.”

And finally, the Star Trek Captain’s Log 2013 Engagement Calendar “is a sixteen-month engagement-style calendar that features images, quotations, and reflections from all of the Star Trek captains.”

For those looking forward to more details regarding the IDW Publishing Doctor Who/Star Trek crossover comic series, a few new details regarding the project have emerged.

In May, the first officially sanctioned crossover for the Doctor Who universe will be published, featuring character from both Doctor Who and from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

According to Bleeding Cool, the series will be called Assimilation and will feature Star Trek‘s Borg and Doctor Who‘s Cyberman.

Drawn by J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel), Assimilation will be penned by Scott and David Tipton.

Paramount and video game maker Namco Bandai have announced a deal to co-publish and distribute a Star Trek video game for all major home consoles and the PC in the first quarter of next year.

“With our Namco Bandai partners leading the distribution effort, we are confident that we will meet an overwhelming demand to get this exciting console experience into the hands of gamers and Star Trek fans worldwide,” said LeeAnne Stables, Paramount’s executive vice president of worldwide marketing partnerships and head of the studio’s video game unit.”

The Star Trek video game is “based on a stand-alone storyline that continues the adventure of iconic characters Kirk and Spock as they work together to stop a legendary enemy race bent on conquering the galaxy.”

“The positive response from our initial unveiling at E3 [Electronic Entertainment Exposition] last year was unprecedented,” said Stables, “and we are fortunate to have the highest level of production and creative talent on our team that will bring this incredible game out to market next year.”

The Star Trek video game was seen in “pre-alpha phase” at 2011′s E3 and won much praise at the event.

The story for the Star Trek video game is being written by Marianne Krawczyk (God of War) in collaboration with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

A third line of Hasbro’s Kre-O toys has been launched, and this line will be of interest to Star Trek fans.

Hasbro, Inc. has “entered into an agreement with CBS Consumer Products to manufacture and globally market a variety of products based on the Star Trek property beginning in 2013. The toy line will launch in support of the Star Trek movie sequel from Paramount Pictures, which will open May 17, 2013.”

“Leading the product offering from Hasbro will be a line of premium Kre-O Star Trek building sets featuring fantastical spaceships and legendary characters from the franchise. The Kre-O Star Trek sets will offer high-quality Kre-O bricks as well as new Kreon figures in the likeness of popular characters. Among its additional new play experiences, Hasbro will also offer robust line of roleplay toys for kids and fans to act out the intergalactic saga as well as select new figures.

“‘Hasbro and Star Trek have always been known as innovative brands,’ said Liz Kalodner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Consumer Products. ‘Bringing them together in this new toy line will give fans of the entire Star Trek franchise new ways to experience the final frontier, including the first complete construction program.’”

More details regarding Hasbro’s Star Trek product offerings will be announced later.

A new episode of Star Trek Online will be released on Saturday, titled The 2800.

In The 2800, “the powers of the Alpha Quadrant gather at Deep Space Nine to plan a defense against the Borg when an unexpected guest arrives.”

That guest turns out to be the Jem’Hadar, the Dominion fleet of genetically engineered “super-soldiers.”

The next four episodes of the fourth season will then be released, on the next four Saturdays after the release of The 2800. The titles for those episodes are: Of Bajor, Operation Gamma, Facility 4028, and Boldly They Rode.

A new Star Trek-themed statue, this time another Captain Kirk one, is being offered later this year by Hollywood Collectibles Group.

The Captain Kirk 1:4 scale statue is the “authentic likeness of William Shatner.” It stands nineteen inches tall, is made of hand-painted, heavyweight polystone.

Previous statues in the Trek series include a 1:6 scale Captain Kirk (seated in his command chair), the Gorn and Mr. Spock 1:6 scale statues.

Only seven hundred-and-fifty pieces of the Captain Kirk 1:4 scale will be made. Those who pre-order now will be able to obtain lower serial numbers (from one to one hundred). The Captain Kirk 1:4 scale statue will sell for $279.95 and can be reserved by heading to the link located here.

The fifth episode of Jackpot Party‘s Star Trek online slots game has been released.

The episode, A Piece of the Action, follows Red Alert, Explore New Worlds, The Trouble With Tribbles, and Trap-a-Tribble.

In A Piece of the Action, players can claim four random “Win Warp” features, including: The Rock Creature Multiplying Wild, Enterprise Respins, Kirk’s Gone Wild and Dilithium Crystal Super Scatter.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Next Level will include the pilot episode, Encounter at Farpoint, as well as Sins of the Father (S3) and The Inner Light (S5).

On February 2, Star Trek Online celebrates its second anniversary, and four days of celebration will take place in honor of the event.

The events will run from around 10 AM PST on Thursday, February 2, through the same time on Monday, February 6.

The master of ceremonies will be Q, and players are encouraged to “log in each day” to “seek out Q at Earth Spacedock or Qo’noS,” where he will find “silly things” for humans to do. Those completing Q’s tasks will win fun prizes.

Two new ships will be released in honor of the celebration. Starfleet command will commission a new Odyssey class cruiser starship. Players who are level 5 or above can obtain one of these ships by completing a mission on a shakedown cruise.

The Klingon Defense Force will also launch their own ship, a Bortas (vengeance) class starship at the same time. KDF officers who are level 21 and above can earn one of these by completing a mission on a shakedown cruise.

According to Star Trek Online, “These two ships will be free to everyone during the event, regardless of level or rank. The ships require you be level 50 to fly them in combat, so characters of lower level will find an item in their inventory that they cannot use until they reach level 50. After the event, these two ships will no longer be obtainable for a while. We have not finalized details yet on when they will return, but we will announce the details once we have them.”
